How did it come to this........
Music: Zombies - She's Not There
Mood: Very High O__O
2 weeks ago I bought a new DVD player because my old one broke or something happened to it. But this DVD player kicks some serious ass, it plays all my burned DVDs, so yay.
Woke up today was tired but I still dragged myself out of bed. I had a shower and got dressed and went to Charlottetown with my mom to return a movie I rented at the only good indie flick rental place in my whole provence. Their indie flick section is so huge now I almost pissed myself. I am going to have fun copying those DVDs and then having them for my own! O____O
Anyways yeah, we decided to eat at a restaurant for lunch so we tried the new Taiwanese restaurant that just opened. The people who own it speak Mandarin so they were trying to communicate with my little sister Emily who also speaks Mandarin. The food was really good there and afterwards we had bubble tea, mmm...
Anyways afterwards I went to the best used bookstore ever.... well cept for that kick ass one in Halifax. Anyways It has an awesome literature section, when I get paid next I am going to pick up some Hemingway and Hesse books. Maybe get another Conrad book, I really liked Heart of Darkness. I also want to get some philosophy books so I am well read for school this year. Since I changed my major I have to pretty much take all philosophy courses this year. My head is going to blow up. I really wanna read Herman Hesse's book Steppenwolf, I know we have a few copies kicking around at home but I can't find them so I am just going to buy another copy at the used bookstore. I have read a few of his other books Damien, Siddhartha, and Majister Ludi (The Glass bead Game) the guy is a fricken genius when it comes to writing. He won the Nobel prize for literature for Majister Ludi, I read that book in grade 12 and my English teacher went psycho because she said it was such a hard book for someone my age to be reading..... whatever. I didn't think so.. well ok it was a bit hard, but only because it was so dense you had to read every page twice just to get it all in. They are also translated from German so that makes it even more difficult to fully understand the real book. I feel like such a geek sometimes, I love old literature the stuff they force you to read in highschool and University. But I could never find anyone to discuss the books with because all my friends in highschool were totally illiterate aka they hated reading and thought I was mentally ill cause I read for fun. Meh, their loss....
Anyways after we left C'town we went into Summerside and I rented a bunch of DVDs so I could *Gasp* break the law and copy them so they would be my own. I got a few that I liked, they are only 99 cents to rent. I love that video rental place so much it's called "The Video Place" it's indie section is small in comparison to "That's Entertainment" the one with the huge selection. But the prices for older movie rentals is awesome. I rented "Sylvia" (but just to watch because I hadn't seen it yet), The Believer (kick ass movie, very powerful), The Unsaid, and Mona Lisa Smile. I am pretty much only burning movies I will have a hard time finding to buy. I will most likely keep buying DVDs. So yeah I watched an episode of Xena, and then watched Sylvia.... which made me feel really depressed, for obvious reasons. It was just worse because I knew she committed suicide. It's too bad she did, her poems are awesome.
Anyways I am super tired. I work tomorrow but not till 6:15 PM... yay work....
